The mod, which has quickly gained significant popularity, allows players to freely roam the map in their favorite Spider-Man costumes and complete some missions together. However, this experience has certain limitations. The developers state that the main story and side missions cannot be played co-op, and attempting to launch them may crash the game. The mod currently only works with the Remastered version of the game.
This multiplayer experience, which fulfills this longing, has been released on the Patreon platform by a modder named “hbgda.” Players who want to try the mod now must support the developer through the $10 monthly “Web-Head” level. According to the developer, the mod is planned to be made available for free to all users in the future.
This development brings to mind a past project from the game’s original developer, Insomniac Games. The studio had once developed a multiplayer Spider-Man game but shelved it. Therefore, this mode is currently the only option for Spider-Man fans looking to sling webs with their friends.
